M I S S I O N   S T A T E M E N T

The mission of the Research Institute is to enhance the well being of elderly persons            by performing research and demonstration projects. The results of these projects add to the           knowledge and awareness of caregivers and help to educate the general public.

The Research Institute develops and conducts research projects which benefit the               field of aging.  Such projects include: studies funded by granting organizations, such as private foundations and the federal and local government;  the development of grant proposals for the procurement of such grants; research projects which respond to specific needs of the nursing         home; research projects which respond to specific interests of research staff; projects which        involve development of staff ideas and research; consultations with specific staff; and projects          by other institutions which we coordinate, review, and assist without receiving any support.

The Research Institute has an impressive record in developing and carrying out               innovative research projects.  Numerous papers and publications demonstrate the productivity          of the Research Institute.
